The Winding Stream, a documentary about the Carters, the Cashes and their influence on the course of American roots music, is in post-production and needs a boost of support to cover costs.
The film is told by family members; including
Rosanne, Johnny Cash, Janette Carter, and the musicians they influenced. And their musical contribution is vividly illustrated in performances by roots music practitioners like John Prine, George Jones, Sheryl Crow, Kris Kristofferson and many others.
Any amount is appreciated, but donate $150 or more and receive the opportunity to meet Rosanne and Tara Cash Schwoebel on August 27, from 5 - 7pm in Portland, OR. More details available on the project's

Hi Friends --
Getting to interview Johnny Cash for The Winding Stream was one of the best things I've ever gotten to do as a filmmaker. He was gracious and kind to me and my crew and, at turns, gravely intense and then devilishly funny. It was a wonderful experience to meet a musical legend like him and see how profoundly he cherished his relationship with the Carter Family and June.
When I asked him how he viewed the Carter legacy in a world of saturated information and entertainment, he had this passionate response.
We are honored to be making a film that helps preserve the Carters' memory. We think that's what the Man in Black wanted and the reason he gave us this interview.
Honestly, it's why I've been so tenacious about finishing the film. We were entrusted with this great interview and the fervor and interest of the whole Carter and Cash Family and we've just got to get it done. With your help, we can.
