Dear friends,
Thank you for the tremendous outpouring of sympathy, love and respect for my father and my family. It has been deeply comforting. This has been a painful year for my extended family, to say the least. We lost my Aunt Louise, my father's oldest sister, in April. My stepmother June passed away in May. My daddy died on September 12th. Six weeks later my stepsister Rosey passed away. It has been, as an old friend of mine says, a 'season of loss'.       [READ COLUMN]

Rosanne's remarks at the tribute:

My father's integrity as an artist was the same integrity that informed him as a parent. When I was a teenager, I was lying on the bed in my room reading a book on astrology. My dad walked in and asked me what I was reading.

I handed him the book and said, "You don't believe in this...do you?" He said, "No, but I think you should find out everything you can about it." That one comment became the template on which I later based my entire philosophy of parenting: trust...respect...and a wide open mind.                       [READ ALL]

In the end, it was the simple eloquence of the pictures that overwhelmed me. The wonderful songs that were sung and the great stories that were told at the Johnny Cash Memorial Tribute concert in Nashville brought enough tears and laughter, God knows.
